The Equipment Behind the Finish.
Before the water goes back in, the pool goes through the chip out, repairs and preparation its scope requires. Then comes the day the new interior goes on. This is our plaster rig. It is one of the most important pieces of equipment we use to apply that finish efficiently and consistently. It belongs to Verdugo & Son, and it is the rig we use on resurfacing jobs. Alberto works hands on with the crew during the project. The equipment you see here is part of the work you see below.

Good Questions Before You Change Your Pool.
How much does pool resurfacing usually cost?
Many average size resurfacing projects may fall around $7,000 to $10,500, depending on the pool and selected scope. This is general planning guidance, not a quote or a promotion.
The estimate depends on interior square footage, existing surface condition, chip out, preparation, plastering repairs, access, finish selected, upgrades and startup scope. Larger pools or heavier preparation and repair work can cost more.

How do I know if my pool needs a repair or complete resurfacing?
A small area of damaged plaster may be a repair candidate. Widespread roughness, peeling, exposed material or recurring deterioration may point toward resurfacing. A stain by itself does not always mean the finish needs replacing.
Alberto evaluates the surface in person before recommending a direction. Tell him about any water loss or cracks so those issues can be evaluated too.
What is the difference between plaster, quartz and mini pebble?
Plaster gives a continuous, smooth surface when new and usually has the lowest initial cost. Quartz adds mineral aggregate for more color detail and durability. Mini pebble exposes small natural stones for a textured surface and a different look.
Feel samples as well as looking at colors. Alberto can help compare the options against your pool and budget.
How long do plaster, quartz and mini pebble finishes usually last?
General planning ranges are approximately 7 to 10 years for plaster, 10 to 15 years for quartz and 15 to 20 years for mini pebble with proper chemistry and care.
These are not warranties. The product, installation, water chemistry, startup, maintenance, environment and usage all affect service life. Your specific finish may perform differently.
Do I need to choose a finish before Alberto comes out?
No. Start with your city, photos and what you want to change. After seeing the pool himself, Alberto can help you compare the preparation, finish type, color and practical options before he prepares the estimate and game plan.
What happens before the new finish goes on?
The existing surface is evaluated first. The agreed work may include chip out, plastering repairs and surface preparation before the new finish is applied. The amount of removal and repair depends on the condition of your pool. Your written estimate should explain the scope.
How long does pool resurfacing usually take?
There are several stages: preparation, repairs, finish application, filling and startup. The time each needs depends on your pool, the selected material, weather and the schedule.
